1. Introduction

This symbol on the device or the package indicates that disposal
of the device after its lifecycle could harm the environment. Do

This device should be returned to your distributor or to a local

If the device was damaged in transit, do not install or use it and contact
your dealer.
2. General Guidelines
Refer to the Velleman ® Service and Quality Warranty on www.velleman.eu.
Read and understand this manual and all safety signs
before using this appliance.

• Keep away from children and unauthorized users.
• Protect from shocks and abuse. Avoid brute force when operating the
device.
• Keep away from dust and extreme temperatures.
• Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually
using it .
• All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons. Damage
caused by user modifications to the device is not covered by the
warranty.
• Do not damage or shorten the cable.
• Only use for its intended purpose. Using the device in an unauthorised
way will void the warranty.

• May only be used directly on plastic pipes in PVC, PE-LD (Socarex®), PP
and similar.

3. Operation
• The cable must always be in direct contact with the pipe.
• Never interlace the cable. Make sure to leave enough space between
the coiling when installing in a spiralled pattern (see table on the last
pages of this manual ).
• Refer to table on the last pages of this manual when installing the cable.
• Fix the cable end onto the pipe using the included clip .
• Insert the plug into an appropriate mains socket.
• 120, 120- and -1: cable without thermostat. Disconnect the cable 0 120
with an ambient temperature of +10 and up. °C
• 120-0T and 120-1T: cable with thermostat The thermostat will .
automatically switch on the cable as soon as the ambient temperature
drops below , and switch off with an ambient temperature of +3 °C
+10 and up Make sure to install the thermostat flat against the °C .
pipe. Fix it with insulation tape (e.g. PEREL article 1040-NPC). We
recommend disconnecting the cable from the mains when the ambient
temperature will not drop below +10 °C anymore.
4. Tips
• Protect the plug from condensation droplets by looping the power cord.
• Protect the cable against damage (sha edges rodents rp , …).
• We recommend wrapping the cable in aluminium tape (PEREL article
DTALU50) when using the cable on plastic pipes. This will ideally
disperse the warmth.
Warning: Install the cable in a regular pattern when used on non-
metallic pipes.
• Apply extra insulation onto the pipe to better protect it from frost.
• When using insulation, keep in mind following tips:
