General Safety Information
WARNING! Read and understand all instructions. Failure
to follow all instructions listed below may
result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious
personal injury.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS!
Work Area Safety
Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered
benches and dark areas invite accidents.
Do not operate power tools in explosive atmo-
spheres, such as in the presence of flammable
li quids, gases, or dust. Tools create sparks which
may ignite the dust or fumes.
Keep bystanders, children, and visitors away while
operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to
lose control.
Electrical Safety
Grounded tools must be plugged into an outlet,
properly installed and grounded in accordance with
all codes and ordinances. Never remove the ground-
ing prong or modify the plug in any way. Do not use
any adapter plugs. Check with a qualified electrician
if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is prop-
erly grounded. If the tool should electrically malfunction
or break down, grounding provides a low resistance
path to carry electricity away from the user.
Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces such
as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There
is an increased risk of electrical shock if your body is
grounded.
Don’t expose electrical tools to rain or wet condi-
tions. Water entering a tool will increase the risk of
electrical shock.
Do not abuse cord. Never use the cord to carry the
tools or pull the plug from an outlet. Keep cord
away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
Replace damaged cords immediately. Damaged
cords increase the risk of electrical shock.
When operating a tool outside, use an outdoor
extension cord marked “W-A” or “W”. These cords
are rated for outdoor use and reduce the risk of elec-
trical shock.
Use only three-wire extension cords which have
three-prong grounding plugs and three-pole re-
ceptacles which accept the tool’s plug. Use of other
extension cords will not ground the tool and increase the
risk of electrical shock.
Use proper extension cords. (See chart.) Insufficient
conductor size will cause excessive voltage drop, loss
of power.
Before using, test the Ground Fault Circuit
Interrupter (GFCI) provided with the power cord to
insure it is operating correctly. GFCI reduces the risk
of electrical shock.
Extension cords are not recommended unless they
are plugged into a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter
(GFCI) found in circuit boxes or outlet receptacles.
The GFCI on the machine power cord will not prevent
electrical shock from the extension cords.
Keep all electric connections dry and off the
ground. Do not touch plugs or tool with wet hands.
Reduces the risk of electrical shock.
Personal Safety
Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use com-
mon sense when operating a power tool. Do not
use tool while tired or under the influence of drugs,
alcohol, or medications. A moment of inattention
while operating power tools may result in serious per-
sonal injury.
Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jew-
elry. Contain long hair. Keep your hair, clothing, and
gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jew-
elry, or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
Avoid accidental starting. Be sure switch is OFF be-
fore plugging in. Carrying tools with your finger on the
switch or plugging tools in that have the switch ON in-
vites accidents.
Remove adjusting keys or switches before turning
the tool ON. A wrench or a key that is left attached to
a rotating part of the tool may result in personal injury.

Only use the K-6200 to clean drain lines 3to 6in
diameter. Follow instructions on the use of the
machine. Other uses or modifying the drain cleaner for
other applications may increase the risk of injury.
Description, Specifications and
Standard Equipment
Description
The RIDGID®K-6200 Drain Cleaning Machine will clean
drain lines 3 to 6 in diameter and up to 200 feet in″ ″
length. The 4/10 HP universal motor spins 5/8cable at
285 RPM. When the cable hits the blockage, the motor
gears down automatically to deliver greater power and
enhance operator control.
The molded polyethylene drum includes an inner drum
that guards against cable flip-over. An integral Ground
Fault Interrupter (GFCI) is built into the line cord and a
“kickstand” base is provided for machine stability during
operation. A pneumatic foot actuator provides ON/OFF
control of the motor.
The drum powers a 5/8inner core cable that has a quick
change coupling system for connecting or disconnecting
tools. The cable is fed in and out of the drain by a AUTO -
FEED assembly at a rate of 0-28 feet/min. An integral
torque limiter will cause the drum to stop rotating whenever
excessive torque is created when the cutting tool at-
tached to the cable hits a snag and stops rotating.
The K-6200 can also be adapted to utilize the K-3800
drum with a 1/2cable to clean drain lines 2 to 4 in di-″ ″
ameter and up to 90 in length.

Instructions For Installing Loading Wheel
(Optional Accessory)
1. Locate the two pre-drilled holes near the top of the
handle.
2. Bolt loading wheel to handle using the 5/16carriage
bolts and lock nuts as shown in Figure 4.
NOTE! Loading wheel swivels up and down. Raise wheel
for loading, lower wheel while transporting or
operating machine.

1 Slide the couplings together. If needed, depress plunger.

Disconnecting
1 Insert the screwdriver to depress the plunger pin..
2. Push the couplings apart until the male coupling con-
tacts the screwdriver.
3. Remove the screwdriver and push the couplings apart.

Clear path to the electrical outlet that does not
contain any sources of heat or oil, sharp edges or
moving parts that may damage electrical cord.
Dry place for machine and operator. Do not use the
machine while standing in water.
Flammable liquids, vapors or dust that may ignite.
2. Position the Drain Cleaning Machine within 3 of
sewer inlet.
If sewer inlet greater than 3 from the
front of the machine, the cable will have a greater tendency
to twist or kink. Use a front guide hose or properly support
exposed cable.
3. Set the spring loaded kickstand bar by tilting the ma-
chine forward to allow the bar to pivot behind the
tires (Figure 6). Make sure the machine rests firmly on
the bar before continuing. The tires should not contact
the ground.

WARNING
To prevent tipping during use, machine should rest firmly
on the kickstand.
4. Position the air foot switch pedal for easy operator ac-
cessibility. Machine is designed for one person
operation. (Figure 8)
5. Make sure FOR/OFF/REV switch is in the OFF po-
sition.
6. Select and install the proper tool/cutter to the end of
the cable. Securely install tool on the end of the cable
(See Figure 3). If the connection is not secure, the cut-
ting tool may fall off in use.
7. Plug the Drain Cleaning Machine into the electrical
outlet, making sure to position the power cord along
the clear path selected earlier. If the power cord
does not reach the outlet, use an extension cord in
good condition.
To avoid electric shock and electrical fires,
never use an extension cord that is damaged or does not
meet the following requirements:
The cord has a three-prong plug similar to shown in
Electrical Safety section.
The cord is rated as “W” or “W-A” if being used out-
doors.
The cord has sufficient wire thickness (16 AWG below
50/14 AWG 50-100). If the wire thickness is too small,
the cord may overheat, melting the cords insulation or
causing nearby objects to ignite.
To reduce risk of electric shock, keep
all electrical connections dry and off the ground. Do not
touch plug with wet hands. Test the Ground Fault Circuit
Interrupter (GFCI) provided with the electric cord to insure
it is operating correctly. When test button is pushed in, the
indicator light should go OFF. Reactivate by pushing the
reset button in. If indicator light goes on, the machine is
ready to use. If the GFCI does not function correctly, do
not use the machine.
Operating Instructions
WARNING
Wear gloves provided with machine. Never grasp a
rotating cable with a rag or loose fitting cloth glove
that may become wrapped around the cable, caus-
ing serious injury.

from air foot switch pedal and allow machine to come to a
full and complete stop. Place FOR/OFF/REV switch to
REV (reverse) position. Loosen feed knob. Grasp cable
with gloved hands and pull while jogging air foot switch
pedal. When tool is dislodged and drum has stopped ro-
tating, place FOR/OFF/REV switch in FOR (forward)
position and follow normal operating procedure.
Never operate this machine in REV (re-
verse) for any other purpose. Operating in reverse can
damage a cable and cause serious injury.
Loading The Machine On Vehicle
Loading Wheel
Optional loading wheel swivels up and down. Raise
wheel for loading, lower wheel while transporting or op-
erating machine.
With loading wheel raised, tip machine backwards and
rest handle or loading wheel on truck bed. Lift up on front
of machine and slide onto truck.
Use proper lifting technique lift with
your legs, not your back!!
NOTE! Take care not to damage electrical cord or air
foot switch hose.
Lifting Hook
Optional lifting hook can be used to raise and lower the
machine into a truck using a hoist. The Machine must be
raised by hooking through the hole in the lifting hook.
Lifting the machine by the handle or any
other part of the machine may result in the machine tipping
and/or the part failing. This could result in the machine
falling causing serious injury.
NOTE! Take care not to damage electrical cord or air foot
switch hose.
Draining the Drum
Water can be drained from the drum by removing the
screw plug located in the rear of the drum (Figure 10)
and resting the machine on its back as seen in Figure 11.
Be sure the screw drain plug is replaced before trans-
porting the machine.
can happen quickly and without warning, so proceed
slowly and carefully as you feed the cable into the
drain. If tool gets hung up in an obstruction, refer to
Reverse Operating Instructions Specialin the
Procedures section.
8. Several passes through thoroughly blocked drain
lines are recommended. Start with a grease cutter or
2blade, or a blade typically 2 smaller than the drain
size. After establishing drain flow, increase cutter
size to thoroughly clean the lines.
TIP: Know approximately where you are going. Over-
running cable into city sewers or septic tanks can
cause cable damage and retrieval problems.
NOTE! Additional cable may be added if required. Refer
to Special Applications Procedure section.
9. To retrieve the cable from the sewer line, move the
AUTOFEED handle in the same direction of the drum
rotation.
Do not put the machine in reverse.
The machine should be kept running during the retrieval
process for thorough cleaning.
NOTE! A continuous flush of water should be used to
clean the cable and tool as they are retrieved.
10. When the tool is just inside the sewer inlet, release the
air foot switch pedal and allow the machine to come to
a complete stop.
Never retract tool from sewer inlet while
cable is rotating. Tool can whip causing serious injury.
11. Turn FOR/OFF/REV Switch to OFF position and re-
move cord from power source.
12. Loosen the feed knob and pull the remaining cable
and tool from the sewer. Hand feed the cable into the
machine.
13. Disengage the spring loaded kickstand bar by tilting
the machine forward, forcing the bar forward of the
tires. (Figure 7)
Special Procedures
Main Sewer Or Septic Tank Overrun
It is very important to know the approximate distance from
inlet to main sewer or septic tank. Over-running cable too
far into main sewer or septic tank can allow cables to
knot-up and prevent their return through small lines.
Reverse Operation
Running machine in reverse will cause premature fail-
ure of cable. Use reverse only to free a tool caught in an
obstruction. If this should occur, immediately remove foot

Operating Machine In Reclined Position
The K-6200 can be operated in the reclined position to ac-
cess overhead waste lines. As shown in Figure 11, screw
the two (2) support legs into the frame. With the kickstand
bar in the forward position ahead of the wheels, place the
machine so it rests on the support legs and the wheels.
If sewer inlet is greater than 3from the
front off the machine, the cable will have a greater ten-
dency to twist or kink. Use a front guide tube or properly
support exposed cable.

Drum Assembly Removal & Installation
WARNING
Make sure FOR/OFF/REV SWITCH is in OFF position
and machine is unplugged from power source.
Drum Removal
1. Set kickstand in the operating position to keep the ma-
chine from moving.
2. Loosen the top AUTOFEED knob to make sure the
top bearing is not in contact with the cable and remove
the cutter.
3. Loosen the two T-handle mounting knobs located
on the drum side of the AUTOFEED assembly. It is
not necessary to remove the knobs, just loosen
enough to allow the AUTOFEED assembly to slide off
the front support. Slide the assembly off the cable.
4. The drum assembly can be removed by grasping
the drum via the center hole on the drum front and by
lifting and sliding the shaft of the assembly out of
the gear box.
Use proper lifting technique lift with
your legs, not your back!!
Drum Installation
1.Set the kickstand to keep machine from moving.
2.Grasp the drum assembly via the center hole on the
drum front and lift the assembly onto the frame. Slide
the shaft of the drum assembly into the gear box.
Align the tangs of the drum and gear box assembly
and fully engage (Figure 12).
Use proper lifting technique lift with
your legs, not your back!!

3. Attach AUTOFEED by sliding the assembly onto the
cable. Slide assembly onto front support and tighten
the two T-handle mounting knobs.
Installing Extra Drum (Additional Cable)
The operator may wish to carry a second drum with cable
for runs greater than 100.
1. Set the kickstand to keep machine from moving.

2. Disconnect the original cable from the pigtail sec-
tion. Secure the initial cable to keep it from falling
into the drain.
3. Remove the AUTOFEED assembly as described in
Steps 2 – 3 of Drum Assembly Removal section.
4. Remove the drum assembly described in Step 4 of
Drum Assembly Removal section.
5. Place second drum assembly onto the machine by
following instructions in Step 2 of Drum Assembly
In stal lation section.
6. Attach AUTOFEED by sliding the assembly onto the
cable. Slide assembly onto front support and tighten
the two T-handle mounting knobs.
7. Attach the cable from the extra drum to the cable in
the drain.
NOTE! Be sure all cable and cutter is spinning in drain
before feeding in more cable.
Pigtail Removal and Installation
1. Set the kickstand.
2. Remove all cable from the drum except the pigtail.
3. Remove the AUTOFEED assembly and main drum.
4. Remove the outer retaining clip from the guide tube
shaft (Figure 13). Slide bearing off the shaft.

5. Remove retaining ring holding inner drum in place
and remove inner drum.
6. Remove the bolt anchoring the pigtail. It is located on
the back of the drum (Figure 14).

7. Remove the pigtail from the guide tube and drum
and insert new pigtail into the drum.
8. Align hole in pigtail with the hole in the back of the
drum. Insert bolt, washers and nut and tighten se-
curely. Push the remainder of the pigtail into drum.
9. Push the end of the pigtail through guide tube. Install
inner drum and bearing by reversing Steps 4 and 5.
10. Place the drum assembly into the machine by fol-
lowing instructions in Step 2 of Drum Assembly In -
stallation section.
Proper Tool Selection
A good rule of thumb is to make the first pass with either
a grease cutter or blade cutter that is 2 smaller than the
drain size. For additional passes, larger tools may be
used. However, tools should generally be at least 1
smaller than the drain size. Use a full size blade on the
final pass.
The style of tool is determined by the nature of the job and
is left to the discretion of the operator.
Flexible leaders should be used to negotiate bends and
traps in lines.

Accessories
Only the following RIDGID products have
been designed to function with the K-6200 Drain Cleaning
Machine. Other accessories suitable for use with other
tools may become hazardous when used on the K-6200.
To prevent serious injury, use only the accessories listed

K-3800 Drum Option
Installing K-3800 Drum
1. Insert rear adapter into gear box in back of drum, in-
serting “O” ring end into drive gear. “O” ring will hold
adapter in place while installing drum. (Figure 15)

2. Place front hex adapter on front nosepiece of guide
tube assembly and tighten wing nut.
3. Slide drum assembly into rear adapter on gear box.
4. Nest hex head front adapter onto front mounting block.
5. Attach AUTOFEED by sliding the assembly onto the
cable. Slide assembly onto front support and align with
hex adapter. Tighten wing nuts.
Using the K-3800 Drum
1. The K-3800 drum should only be used to clean drain
lines 2 to 4 in diameter.″ ″
Only 1/2diameter cable is recommended
for use in this K-3800 option. Use of smaller diameter ca-
bles may result in kinking and breakage.
2. Follow the same Operating Instructions previously
outlined when cleaning drain. To use the AUTOFEED,
Feed knob must be turned until top bearing makes
contact with the cable. Turn one full additional turn but
do not over-tighten.

Service and Repair
WARNING
TheMaintenance Instructions will take care of most of
the service needs of this machine. Any problems not
addressed by this section should only be handled by an
authorized RIDGID service technician.
Tool should be taken to a RIDGID Independent Auth -
orized Service Center or returned to the factory. All re pairs
made by Ridge service facilities are warranted against de-
fects in material and workmanship.
When servicing this machine, only iden-
tical replacement parts should be used. Failure to follow
these instructions may create a risk of electrical shock or
other serious injury.

Maintenance Instructions
WARNING
Make sure machine is unplugged from power source
before performing maintenance or making any ad-
justment.
AUTOFEED Assembly
Proper cleaning and lubrication of the AUTOFEED is ad-
vised for long, trouble-free operation. After each use,
hose out AUTOFEED with water and grease bearings.
Lubrication
Grease all exposed, moving and rotating parts as re-
quired. A grease fitting is provided for the drum front and
rear bearings.
Cables
Drain drum after every use. Flush drum periodically, re-
move sediment that can corrode cable.
Cables should be thoroughly flushed with water to prevent
damaging effects of drain cleaning compounds. Periodi -
cally lubricate cables and couplings with RIDGID Cable
Rust Inhibitor.
When not in use, store cables indoors to prevent deteri-
oration by the elements.
Cables should be replaced when they become severely
corroded or worn. A worn cable can be identified when
outside coils of cable become flat or lose their rigidity.
Machine Storage
Motor-driven equipment must be kept in-
doors or well covered in rainy weather. Store the machine

7. Eliminez toutes traces dhuile de graisse ou de crasse
des commandes et poignées du matériel. Cela réduira
les risques de blessure lorsqu’un outil ou une com-
mande s’échappe de votre main.
8. Examinez le tranchant des outils utilisés. Si néces-
saire, faites-les affûter ou remplacer avant d’utiliser le
dégorgeoir. Des outils émoussés ou endommagés
peuvent éventuellement provoquer le grippage et le
bris des câbles.
9. Examinez les câbles et les raccords pour signes
d’usure et de détérioration. Les câbles doivent être
remplacés dès qu’ils deviennent excessivement usés
ou corrodés. Un câble est considéré usé lorsque les
brins extérieurs s’aplatissent.
Les câbles usés ou endommagés
risquent de rompre et de provoquer de graves blessures
corporelles.
Préparation de la machine et
du chantier
AVERTISSEMENT
Une bonne pparation de la machine et du chantier
permettra de limiter les risques d’accident. Le pro-
cessus de préparation suivant doit être respecté lors
de l’installation de la machine :
1. Examinez le chantier pour :
Un éclairage suffisant.
Une prise de courant avec terre.
Un passage dégagé jusqu’à la prise de courant,
dépourvu de sources de chaleur, d’huile, d’arêtes
vives et de mécanismes qui risquent d’endom -
mager le cordon électrique.
Un endroit sec pour la machine et son utilisateur.
N’utilisez pas la machine lorsque vous avez les
pieds dans l’eau.
La présence de liquides, de gaz ou de poussières
inflammables qui risquent de s’enflammer.
2. Positionnez le dégorgeoir à moins d’un mètre
du point d’entrée.
Si le point d’entrée se trouve à
plus de trois pieds de la machine, le câble aura plus ten-
dance à se boucler ou se plisser. Utilisez le guide-câble
avant ou un autre moyen approprié pour soutenir le câble
exposé.
3. Déployez la béquille de stabilisation de l’appareil en
basculant l’appareil en avant pour permettre à la tra-
verse de la béquille dêtre ramee derrière les roues
(Figure 6). Assurez-vous que la machine repose fer-
mement sur la traverse avant de proder. Les roues
ne devraient pas alors toucher le sol.

AVERTISSEMENT
La machine doit reposer sur sa béquille afin d’éviter
son renversement en cours d’utilisation.
4. Placez la pédale de commande pneumatique dans
un endroit facilement accessible. Cette machine est
prévue pour être utilisée par un seul opérateur
(Figure 8).
5. Assurez-vous que le sélecteur FOR/OFF/REV se
trouve en position OFF (arrêt).
6. Sélectionnez et montez l’outil ou le couteau appropr
en bout du câble en les raccordant selon la Figure 3.

Tenez-vous de manière appro-
priée afin de maintenir votre équilibre (Figure 8). En cas
d’imprévu, cette position vous permettra de garder le
contrôle de la machine et du câble en toute sécurité.
•. Assurez-vous de pouvoir rapidement retirer votre pied
de la pédale de commande.
•. Vous devez garder une main sur le câble pour l’em -
pêcher de fouetter lorsqu’il rencontre un obstacle.
•. Ecartez vos mains du tambour rotatif et du tuyau de
guidage. Ne mettez pas vos mains à l’intérieur du
tambour avant d’avoirbranché la machine.
1. Desserrez la molette dembrayage pour vous assurer
que le système d’avancement automatique n’est pas
engagé. Retirez une longueur suffisante de câble du
tambour pour pouvoir introduire le câble et l’outil
manuellement dans la canalisation.

2. Mettez le sélecteur FOR/OFF/REV en position FOR
(marche avant). N’appuyez pas encore sur la pédale
de commande.
3. Pour activer le système d’avancement automatique,
serrez la molette d’embrayage jusqu’à ce que le
palier supérieur touche le câble, puis ajoutez un tour
complet de plus. Ne pas trop serrer la manette.
AVERTISSEMENT
La main gantée de l’opérateur doit être posée sur
le câble avant de démarrer la machine.
4. Maintenez une pression suffisante sur leble afin de
l’empêcher de sortir de la canalisation lorsque vous
appuyez sur la pédale de commande pneumatique
pour le faire tourner.
Vérifiez la connexion des raccords afin d’éviter que
l’outil de coupe ne tombe en cours d’opération.
7. Branchez le cordon d’alimentation du dégorgeoir,
après vous être assuré qu’il suit le passage dégagé
pvu. Si le cordon d’alimentation n’arrive pas jusqu’à
la prise de courant, utilisez une rallonge électrique en
bon état.
Afin d’éviter les risques de choc et
d’incendie électrique, ne jamais utiliser une rallonge élec-
trique endommagée ou qui ne répond pas aux critères
suivants :
Toute rallonge électrique doit être équipée d’une fiche
à trois barrettes, semblable à celle indiquée à la sec-
tion Sécurité électrique.
Toute rallonge électrique utilisée à l’extérieur doit être
du type “W” ou “W-A”.
La rallonge électrique utilisée doit avoir des conducteurs
de section suffisante (16 AWG pour toutes longueurs in-
férieures à 50 pieds, 14 AWG pour longueurs de 50 à
100 pieds). Une section de conducteurs insuffisante
risque de provoquer la surchauffe de la rallonge au
point de fondre son isolation et enflammer les objets à
proximité.
Afin de limiter les risques de choc
électrique, gardez toutes connexions électriques au sec et
surélevées. Ne touchez pas les fiches avec les mains
mouillées. Testez le disjoncteur difrentiel fourni avec le
cordon d’alimentation afin de vous assurer de son bon
fonctionnement. Lorsque la touche d’essai est enfoncée,
le témoin lumineux doit s’éteindre. Réactivez-le en ap-
puyant sur la touche de réarmement. Si le témoin lu-
mineux s’allume, c’est que la machine est prête à fonc-
tionner. Si le disjoncteur différentiel ne fonctionne pas
correctement, n’utilisez pas la machine.
Utilisation de la machine
AVERTISSEMENT
Portez les gants fournis avec la machine. Ne jamais
tenter d’attraper un câble en rotation avec un chiffon
ou des gants en tissu trop amples qui risqueraient de
s’entortiller autour du câble et pro voquer de graves
blessures.
Portez systématiquement une protection oculaire
afin de protéger vos yeux contre la projection de
bris ou autres objets divers. Portez des chaus-
sures antidérapantes avec semelles en caoutchouc.

5. Poussez le levier d’avancement en sens opposé à
celui de la rotation du tambour pour faire avancer le
ble (Figure 9). La vitesse d’avancement du ble à
l’inrieur de la canalisation (de 0 à 28 pieds/minute)
dépend de la position du levier d’avancement par rap-
port à la verticale. Plus il est éloigné de la verticale, plus
la vitesse d’avancement sera élevée. Gardez toujours
une main sur le câble pour contrôler sa tension.
6. Continuez à faire avancer le câble à l’intérieur de la
canalisation jusqu’à ce que vous sentiez une résis-
tance ou que vous rencontrez un obstacle. Cela se
fera sentir par le ralentissement du moteur et/ou la ten-
dance qu’aura le câble à se tortiller latéralement entre
les mains de l’utilisateur.
S’il devient apparent que le couteau a complètement
cesde tourner, ramenez le levier d’avancement
complètement en arrière (dans le sens de rotation du
tambour) afin de dégager le couteau et soulager le
ble. Faites avancer le ble à nouveau vers l’ob-
stacle, tout en laissant le couteau progresser len te -
ment. Ramenez le levier d’avancement au point mort
occasionnellement afin de permettre au couteau de
faire son chemin à travers l’obstacle. Si le tambour sar-
te, mais que le moteur continue à tourner, c’est que
le limiteur de couple dérape en raison d’une résis-
tance trop élevée. Le cas échéant, soulagez le ble
en le ramenant en arrière pour que le tambour se
remette à tourner.
CONSEIL : Si le câble continue à s’accrocher dans l’ob-
stacle, désengagez le système d’avance -
ment automatique et travaillez le câble
manuellement.
7. Une fois que l’écoulement a été rétabli, il est conseillé
de faire courir de l’eau dans la canalisation afin d’en
chasser les débris et les racines pendant que vous ter-
minez le curage.
AVERTISSEMENT
Ne laissez pas la tension s’accumuler dans le câble.
Cela se produira si loutil s’accroche sur un obstacle
et s’arte, tandis que le moteur et son tambour
continuent à tourner. Le couple duble peut alors
augmenter au point de le faire boucler subitement et
s’entortiller autour de votre main ou de votre bras.
Cela peut arriver soudainement et sans pavis ; il
convient donc de procéder lentement et précau-
tionneusement lorsque l’on fait avancer le câble
dans la canalisation. Si l’outil s’accroche sur un
obstacle, consultez la partie Utilisation de la marche
arrière qui se trouve dans la section Pros spé-
ciaux du manuel.

8. Il est conseil d’effectuer plusieurs passes dans une
canalisation complètement bouchée. Commencez
avec un couteau à graisse ou couteau à deux lames,
ou encore avec une lame d’environ 2 po de moins que
le diamètre de la canalisation. Une fois l’écoulement
rétabli, utilisez un couteau de section supérieure pour
parfaire le curage.
CONSEIL : Il est bon de savoir approximativement
l’on s’engage. Le fait de laisser le ble
border dans le tout-à-l’égout ou dans une
fosse septique risque d’endommager le câble
et rendre sa récuration problématique.
NOTA ! Il est possible, au besoin, d’ajouter des longueurs
supplémentaires de ble. Reportez-vous à la
section Procédés spéciaux.
9. Pour retirer le câble de la canalisation, ramenez le
levier d’avancement en direction du sens de rota-
tion du tambour.
Ne mettez pas la machine en marche
arrière.
La machine doit continuer à tourner lors du retrait du
câble afin de parfaire le curage de la canalisation.
NOTA ! Il est conseillé de laisser courir l’eau dans la
canalisation afin de rincer le câble et l’outil pen-
dant leur retrait
10. Lorsque l’outil arrive presque au point d’ente de la
canalisation, lâchez la pédale de commande pneu-
matique et attendez que la machine s’arrête com -
plètement.
Ne jamais retirer l’outil de la canal-
isation pendant que le câble tourne. L’outil risque de fou-
etter et provoquer de graves blessures.
