Your B multi-purpose tool has been LACK+DECKER

designed for a wide range of DIY applications.

Using the saw head (MTTS7), this tool is intended

for sawing wood and plastics.

This tool is intended for consumer use only.

Cutting procedures

@Danger: Keep hands away

from cutting area and the

blade. Keep your second hand

on auxiliary handle, or motor

housing. If both hands are hold-

ing the saw, they cannot be cut

by the blade.

b. Do not reach underneath the workpiece.

The guard cannot protect you from the blade

below the workpiece.

c. Adjust the cutting depth to the thickness of

the workpiece. Less than a full tooth of the

blade teeth should be visible below the

workpiece.

d. Never hold piece being cut in your hands or

across your leg. Secure the workpiece to a

stable platform. It is important to support the

work properly to minimize body exposure,

blade binding, or loss of control.

e. Hold the power tool by insulated gripping

surfaces only, when performing an

operation where the cutting tool may

contact hidden wiring or its own cord.

Contact with a “live” wire will also make

exposed metal parts of the power tool “live”

and could give the operator an electric shock.

f. When ripping, always use a rip fence or

straight edge guide. This improves the

accuracy of cut and reduces the chance of

blade binding.

g. Always use blades with correct size and

shape (diamond versus round) of arbour

holes. Blades that do not match the mounting

hardware of the saw will run eccentrically,

causing loss of control.

h. Never use damaged or incorrect blade

washers or bolt. The blade washers and bolt

were specially designed for your saw, for

optimum performance and safety of operation.

u When cutting pipe or conduit, make sure that

they are free from water, electrical wiring, etc.

u Do not touch the workpiece or the blade

immediately after operating the tool. They can

become very hot.

u Be aware of hidden hazards, before cutting into

walls, oors or ceilings, check for the location

of wiring and pipes.

u The blade will continue to move after releasing

the switch. Always switch the tool off and

wait for the saw blade to come to a complete

standstill before putting the tool down.

@Warning! Contact with, or inhalation

of dusts arising from cutting applica-

tions may endanger the health of the

operator and possible bystanders.

Wear a dust mask specically

designed for protection against dust

and fumes and ensure that persons

within or entering the work area are

also protected.

Kickback causes and related warnings

u kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched,

bound or misaligned saw blade, causing

an uncontrolled saw to lift up and out of the

workpiece toward the operator;

u when the blade is pinched or bound tightly

by the kerf closing down, the blade stalls and

the motor reaction drives the unit rapidly back

toward the operator;

u if the blade becomes twisted or misaligned in

the cut, the teeth at the back edge of the blade

can dig into the top surface of the wood caus-

ing the blade to climb out of the kerf and jump

back toward the operator.

Kickback is the result of saw misuse and/or incor-

rect operating procedures or conditions and can

be avoided by taking proper precautions as given

below.

a. Maintain a rm grip with both hands on the

saw and position your arms to resist

kickback forces. Position your body to

either side of the blade, but not in line with

the blade. Kickback could cause the saw to

jump backwards, but kickback forces can be

controlled by the operator, if proper precautions

are taken.

b. When blade is binding, or when interrupting

a cut for any reason, release the trigger and

hold the saw motionless in the material

until the blade comes to a complete stop.

Never attempt to remove the saw from the

work or pull the saw backward while the

blade is in motion or kickback may occur.

Investigate and take corrective actions to

eliminate the cause of blade binding.

c. When restarting a saw in the workpiece,

centre the saw blade in the kerf and check

that saw teeth are not engaged into the

material. If saw blade is binding, it may walk

up or kickback from the workpiece as the saw

is restarted.

d. Support large panels to minimise the risk of

blade pinching and kickback. Large panels

tend to sag under their own weight. Supports

must be placed under the panel on both sides,

near the line of cut and near the edge of the

panel.

e. Do not use dull or damaged blades.

Unsharpened or improperly set blades produce

narrow kerf causing excessive friction, blade

binding and kickback.

f. Blade depth and bevel adjusting locking

levers must be tight and secure before

making cut. If blade adjustment shifts while

cutting, it may cause binding and kickback.

Assembly

Warning! Before assembly, remove the battery

from the tool.

Fitting and removing a saw blade (g. A

& B)

u Lock the tool by setting the forward/reverse

slider (2) to the centre position.

u Press and hold the spindle lock (12). Using the

hex wrench (17) provided, remove the blade

bolt (18) by turning it clockwise.

u Remove the outer clamping washer (19),

ensure that the inner clamping washer (20)

remains in place on the spindle (21).

u Retract the lower guard (15) using the guard

retracting lever (16) and place the saw blade

(22) onto the inner clamping washer (20),

making sure that the arrow on the blade points

in the same direction as the arrow on the lower

guard.

u Fit the outer clamping washer (19) onto the

spindle (21).

u Fit the blade bolt (18) into the spindle(21) by

turning it anti-clockwise.

u Press and hold the spindle lock (12). Using the

hex wrench (17) provided, tighten the blade

bolt (18) by turning it anti-clockwise.

Warning! Never engage the spindle lock while the

saw is running, or engage in an effort to stop the

tool. Never turn the tool on while the spindle lock is

engaged. Serious damage to your saw will result..

Warning! Ensure that you blade is correctly tted.

Using the hex wrench (17) provided turn the

spindle anti-clockwise and ensure that the blade

does not make contact with the guard before start-

ing the tool.

Use

Warning! Let the tool work at its own pace. Do not

overload.

Sawing

Note: Ensure the forward reverse slider (2) is not

in the locked position.

u To switch the tool on, lift the lock off button

(11) then press the variable speed switch (1).

The tool speed depends on how far you press

the switch.

u Release the lock off button.

u To switch the tool off, release the variable

speed switch.

Vorgehen beim Sägen

Gefahr: Halten Sie Ihre Hände

von der Schneidzone und dem

Sägeblatt fern. Legen Sie die

zweite Hand auf den Zusatz-

griff oder auf das Motorge-

häuse. Wenn Sie die Säge mit

beiden Händen halten, können

diese nicht durch das Sägeblatt

verletzt werden.

b. Greifen Sie nicht unter das Werkstück. Die

Schutzvorrichtungen können Sie nicht vor dem

Teil des Sägeblatts schützen, der sich

unterhalb des Werkstücks bendet.

c. Passen Sie die Schnitttiefe an die Dicke des

Werkstücks an. Unterhalb des Werkstücks

sollte weniger als ein ganzer Sägezahn

sichtbar sein.

d. Halten Sie das zu schneidende Werkstück

niemals mit den Händen oder über den

Beinen. Fixieren Sie das Werkstück auf

einer stabilen Unterlage. Es ist wichtig, das

Werkstück richtig abzustützen, damit es nicht

zu Körperkontakt, Verklemmen des Sägeblatts

oder Kontrollverlust kommt.

e. Halten Sie das Gerät nur an den isolierten

Griffächen, wenn Sie Arbeiten ausführen,

bei denen das Sägeblatt ein verdecktes

Kabel oder das Gerätekabel berühren

könnte. Der Kontakt mit stromführenden

Leitungen setzt auch offen liegende Metallteile

am Gerät unter Strom und führt zu

Stromschlag.

f. Verwenden Sie beim Längsschneiden stets

einen Parallelanschlag oder eine gerade

Schnittführung. Auf diese Weise wird die

Genauigkeit des Schnitts verbessert, und die

Gefahr, dass sich das Sägeblatt verklemmt,

wird reduziert.

g. Verwenden Sie grundsätzlich Sägeblätter

mit der richtigen Bohrungsgröße und -form

(Rund- oder Diamantform). Sägeblätter, die

nicht exakt zur Sägeblattaufnahme der Säge

passen, laufen exzentrisch und können außer

Kontrolle geraten.

h. Verwenden Sie niemals beschädigte oder

ungeeignete Sägeblattunterlegscheiben

oder -schrauben. Die Unterlegscheiben und

Schrauben wurden eigens für Ihre Säge

konstruiert, um optimale Leistung und sicheren

Betrieb zu gewährleisten.

u Achten Sie beim Sägen von Rohren oder

Leitungen darauf, dass diese frei von Wasser,

Stromkabeln und Ähnlichem sind.
