ELECTRICAL CONNECTION (UK ONLY)

For your safety please read the following information.

Warning: This appliance must be earthed.

The appliance must be connected to a 220-240 volts 50/60 cycle AC supply by means

of a three pin socket, suitably earthed.

The appliance is supplied with a rewireable 13 amp 3 pin plug fitted with a 13 amp

fuse. Should the fuse require replacement, it must be replaced with a fuse rated at 13

amp and approved to BS1362.

If the mains plug is unsuitable for the socket outlet in your home or is removed for any

other reason, then the old plug should be disposed of safely to prevent the hazard of

electric shock.

There is a danger of electric shock if the cut off plug is inserted into any 13 amp

socket outlet.

How to wire a 13 amp plug

Important

The wires in the mains lead on this appliance are coloured in accordance with the

following code:

Green and Yellow - Earth

Blue – Neutral

Brown – Live

The mains plug shall be the main disconnect device and shall remain operable at all

times.

As the colours may not correspond with the markings identifying the terminals in your

plug proceed as follows.

The blue wire must be connected to the terminal marked N.

The brown wire must be connected to the terminal marked L.

The green and yellow wire must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is

marked with the letter E or with the earth symbol or coloured green and yellow.

Make sure the lead is firmly secured under the cord clamp.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

When using your iron, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including

the following:

Check the mains voltage stated on the rating plate corresponds to the local mains

voltage.

The plug shall be the main disconnect device and shall be operable at all times.

The iron should always be turned to the minimum setting before plugging or

unplugging from the mains supply.

Never pull the supply cable to disconnect from the mains supply instead, grasp plug

and pull to disconnect.

Do not allow the supply cable to touch hot surfaces. Let the iron cool before putting

away.

Do not allow children to pull on the mains cord or steam pipe during use as this could

lead to serious injury.

Do not Loop the power cord around the iron.

Always disconnect from the mains supply when filling with water or emptying and

when not in use.

Do not operate the iron with a damaged supply cable or if the iron has been dropped

or damaged or does not work as expected.

Use the appliance only on a flat level surface. Do not use the appliance in vertical

position.

The manufacturer cannot be held responsible of any personal injury and/or items

damaged if the appliance is subject to unauthorised repair or servicing.

Any repair must be carried out by an authorised service agent. Appliances repaired by

unauthorised technicians can represent a danger to the users and render the

warranty void.

Close supervision is necessary for the appliance when being used near children.

Do not leave the iron unattended while connected to the mains supply or on an

ironing board.

Accessible surfaces get hot, use handles and knobs at all times.

Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water, or steam.

Use caution when you turn a steam iron upside down there may be hot water in the

reservoir.

Do not use outdoors or expose to rain.

This appliance is not intended for use by children or persons with reduced physical,

sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they

have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliances by a

person responsible for their safety.

The plug must be removed from the socket-outlet before the water reservoir is filled

with water.

The filling aperture must not be opened during use.
