Installing the Media Converter
Connecting the Media Converter
1. Turn o the that will be connected to the Networking Equipment Media
Converter.
2. Remove the from the .Dust Cover SFP+ Slot
3. Insert an MSA-compliant 10GbE SFP+ module (sold separately) into the SFP+ Slot
on the Media Converter.
Note: The can only be used with 10GbE SFP+ Module.Media Converter
4. Remove the from the .Dust Cover SFP+ Module
5. Connect a (sold separately) to the on the Fiber-Optic Cable Fiber-Optic Ports SFP+
Module.
6. Connect the other end of the to the . Fiber-Optic Cable Fiber-Network Device
Note: For , the TX and RX connectors must be paired at Duplex Fiber Optic Cables
both ends of the connection. For example TX to RX, and RX to TX.
7. Connect a (sold separately) to the on the Cat 6/6a Cable RJ45 Port Media

wiring distance. SFP+ modules are designed to transmit signals over large distances. If
the physical wiring distance is too short, the transmitting optical signal (laser) may be
too strong and damage the receiving SFP+ module. An in-line optical attenuator may
be required to protect it from damage.

Duplex Mode Support
