SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Failure to adhere to the warnings and

instructions contained in this manual and

on the product could result in serious or

fatal injury.

BEFORE USE

ENSURE THAT YOU ARE FIT ENOUGH TO USE A

LADDER. CERTAIN MEDICAL CONDITIONS OR

MEDICATION, ALCOHOL OR DRUG ABUSE COULD

MAKE LADDER USE UNSAFE.

• Before using the ladder it shall be checked that

all locking mechanisms are working properly. If

the mechanism is not working properly, do not

use the ladder.

• Wear tight-ﬁtting clothing, remove jewellery and

tie long hair back when using the ladder.

• Always wear suitable footwear when climbing

a ladder; ﬂat, dry, treaded, shoes with securely

tied laces are considered appropriate footwear.

• Ensure that the surface you will rest the ladder

against is capable of supporting the combined

weight of the ladder, operator and any carried

objects.

• Doors (but not ﬁre doors or similar), windows

and areas of entry/exit should be secured when

using the ladder.

• All distractions should be reasonably avoided.

Always set up the Telescopic Ladder so that it is

always freely accessible.

• When transporting ladders on roof bars or in a

car, ensure they are suitably placed and secu-

red to prevent damage.

• The ladder shall be inspected after delivery

and before every use to conﬁrm condition and

operation of all parts.

• Visually check that the ladder is not damaged

and is safe to use at the start of each working

day when the ladder is to be used.

• Remove any contamination from the ladder,

such as wet paint, mud, oil or snow.

• For frequent users, regular periodic inspection

is required.

• Before using a ladder at work, a risk assess-

ment should be carried out respecting the legis-

lation in the country of use.

• Ensure the ladder is suitable for the task. If

unsure, contact a qualiﬁed person for guidance.

• Do not use a damaged or otherwise unsuitable

ladder.

POSITIONING AND ERECTING THE LADDER

• Ensure the ladder is fully collapsed, all locks are

secured and the ladder is free from contami-

nants before moving to the area of work. Only

erect and close in a safe work area. Do not move

the ladder when erect.

• Only position and use the ladder on an even, level

and unmoveable base.

• When positioning the ladder, take into account

risk of collision with the ladder e.g. from pedes-

trians, vehicles or doors.

• Secure doors (not ﬁre exits) and windows where

possible in the area.

• Identify any electrical risks in the work area, such

as overhead lines or other exposed electrical

equipment. This ladder does not offer insulation

or protection from electrical hazards.

• Take extra care when using electrical equipment,

this ladders conducts electric current. Always

take precautions so that a power cable cannot

become trapped or become caught when using

the ladder. Check beforehand that your tool’s

electrical cable is undamaged. Keep the ladder

at least 2m away from non-insulated live electri-

cal equipment.

• The ladder shall be only be positioned ﬂat on its

feet, not the rungs or steps. Never position or

use the ladder on slippery surfaces (such as ice,

shiny surfaces or signiﬁcantly contaminated solid

surfaces) unless additional effective measures

are taken to prevent the ladder slipping or ensu-

ring contaminated surfaces are sufﬁciently clean.

• The ladder shall be erected at the correct positi-

on, such as the correct angle for a leaning ladder

(angle of inclination approximately 1:4) with the

rungs or treads level (e.g. 1m away from the base

of a wall if extending to climb 4m up).

• Always position the ladder against a ﬂat, non-fra-

gile surface and secure properly before use e.g.

tied down or with the use of a suitable stability

device.

•

The locking mechanisms for all the extended rung

sections shall be locked before using the ladder.

• Never attempt to move or reposition the ladder

from above.

USING THE LADDER

• Do not exceed the maximum total load of

150kg/330lbs for this ladder.

• Only allow one person to use the ladder at any

time.

• Ladders should only be used for light work of

short duration.

• Use non-conductive ladders for unavoidable live

electrical work. This ladder is not suitable for

live electrical work as it is conductive and offers

no protection from electrical hazards.

• Never erect or use the ladder upside down. The

base should always sit ﬁrmly on the ground.

• Do not use the ladder outside in adverse we-

ather conditions, such as strong wind or rain.

• Do not leave an extended ladder unattended.

• Take precautions against children playing on

the ladder.

• Do not place any tools or other objects on the

rungs and do not hang anything on the ladder

system.

• Equipment carried while using a ladder should

be light and easy to handle.

• Face the ladder and keep a secure grip when

ascending and descending.

• Do not slide down the stiles of the ladder. Climb

and descend with deliberate movements.

• Always maintain 3 points of contact with the

ladder at all times e.g. two feet on the same

rung and a hand on the stiles. Use additional

safety equipment if this is not possible.

• Maintain a handhold whilst working from a

ladder or take additional safety precautions if

you cannot.

• Do not overreach; always keep your belt buckle

(navel) inside the stiles and both feet on the

same step/rung throughout the task.

• Avoid work that imposes a sideways load on

ladders, such as side-on drilling through solid

materials (e.g. brick or concrete).

• In the leaning ladder position it is not allowed to

climb higher than last metre of the ladder.

• The user shall put the hands around the stile

when bringing the ladder from extended to

storage position.

• Do not stand on the top four rungs on the lad-

der; this can cause stability issues.

• Do not use the ladder as a bridge.

• Leaning ladders used for access to a higher

level should be extended at least 1m above the

landing point.

• Do not step off a leaning ladder at a higher level

without additional security, such as tying off or

use of a suitable stability device.

• Do not step off the side of the ladder.

• Do not spend long periods of time on a ladder

without regular breaks (tiredness is a risk).

• Take care when closing the ladder to not catch

any ﬁngers, clothing or hair in the mechanisms.

Close one rung at a time.

2. PRODUCT INFORMATION

Intended use

The Telescopic Ladder is designed and intended

for domestic use, as a climbing aid in home and

garden environments and for hobby purposes. This

ladder is not a toy. Children should be supervised at

all times to ensure they do not play with the ladder

system. This ladder is not developed for professi-

onal use. The Telescopic Ladder must be handled,

cared for and maintained in accordance with these

instructions. Any other use is deemed improper and

may result in damage to property, personal injury

or even death. The ladder complies to the norms of

EN131, 96-333 and Warenwet.

3. ASSEMBLY

The Stabiliser Bar must be ﬁtted before use.

NEVER use the ladder without the Stabiliser

Bar.

Take care during assembly that the ladder

does not fall over. If necessary, get

assistance from a second person.

Mounting the stabiliser bar (Fig. A, B)

• Flip the Telescopic Ladder vertically so that the

feet are accessible. You will notice plastic pins in

the slot on each foot. In order to ﬁt the Stabiliser

Bar (9), these pins will need to be snapped. This

can be done easily using a ﬂathead screwdriver.

• Once the pins have been snapped and removed,

the Stabiliser Bar (9) will ﬁt into the slots. You will

need to line up the holes on the Stabiliser Bar with

the holes on the legs of the Telescopic Ladder.

NOTE: You may need a rubber hammer to care-

fully tap the Stabiliser Bar into the slots securely.

• With the Stabiliser Bar (9) slotted onto the feet

of the Ladder, secure into place using the 2 bolts

and nuts provided, as shown on ﬁgure B. Tighten

with a wrench to secure.

4. OPERATION

Before using the ladder, always observe the

safety instructions and obey the relevant

regulations.

Opening the ladder to intermediate length

(Fig. A, C, D)

The telescopic ladder will automatically engage the

locking mechanisms when opening. Each section

has its own locking mechanisms.

• Place the Telescopic Ladder on a ﬁrm, level

surface. Ensure the ladder is in closed position

as shown on ﬁgure D1.

• Unlock the Storage strap (4).

• Place one foot on the Bottom Rung (5) to stabi-

lise the ladder. Ensure that the front side of the

ladder is facing you.

• Starting with the second rung from the bottom

(as shown in ﬁgure D2), use both hands to

grasp the Hand Grips (7) on either side of the

rung and pull upwards to extend the step.

• When each step is fully extended, you should

hear a “click”, conﬁrming that the Locking

Mechanisms (6) are engaged for that level.

• Check that all opened rung sections are locked,

the red Locking Mechanisms (6) should be

clearly visible, as shown on ﬁgure C2. Meanwhi-

le, the red parts of the Retract Levers (8) should

not be visible. Also ensure that all the distances

between opened rungs are of equal height.

• When all sections are locked, you can use

the ladder. Position the ladder with a correct

angle for a leaning ladder (angle of inclination

approximately 1:4) with the rungs or treads

level (e.g. 1m away from the base of a wall if

extending to climb 4m up).

Opening the ladder to full length (Fig. A, C, D)

If you are opening the Ladder to its full

length, you should always extend from top

to bottom.

• Place the Telescopic Ladder on a ﬁrm, level

surface. Ensure the ladder is in closed position

as shown on ﬁgure D1.

• Unlock the Storage strap (4).

• Place one foot on the Bottom Rung (5) to stabi-

lise the ladder. Ensure that the front side of the

ladder is facing you.

• Starting with the Top Bar ((1) as shown in ﬁgure

D3), use both hands to grasp the Hand Grips (7)

on either side of the rung and pull upwards to

extend the step.

• When each step is fully extended, you should

hear a “click”, conﬁrming that the Locking

Mechanisms (6) are engaged for that level.

• Check that all opened rung sections are locked,

the red Locking Mechanisms (6) should be

clearly visible, as shown on ﬁgure C2. Meanwhi-

le, the red parts of the Retract Levers (8) should

not be visible. Also ensure that all the distances

between opened rungs are of equal height.

• When all sections are locked, you can use

the ladder. Position the ladder with a correct

angle for a leaning ladder (angle of inclination

approximately 1:4) with the rungs or treads

level (e.g. 1m away from the base of a wall if

extending to climb 4m up).

Closing the ladder (Fig. A, E)

The entire ladder is closed by using the

Retract Levers (8). For safety reasons, the

treads may not be closed separately.

Do not engage the locking mechanisms (6)

manually. Only use the Retract levers (8) to

close the ladder.

• Hold the Telescopic Ladder in an upright position.

• Place one foot on the Bottom Rung (5) to stabi-

lise the Ladder.

• Starting at the rung where the Retract Levers

(8) are placed, use both hands to grasp the

Hand Grips (7) on either side of the rung. Ensu-

re your hands are placed in such way as shown

on ﬁgure E, securing you do not catch your

ﬁngers when closing the ladder.

• Then disengage the Retract Levers (8) with your

thumbs by pushing them towards the centre, so

the red parts become visible.

• The ladder will now start closing. For safety

reasons, the ladder has been ﬁtted with a

soft-closing system, preventing the ladder from

closing rapidly.

Transporting the ladder (Fig. A)

Only transport the ladder when the Storage

Strap is locked.

When carrying the ladder, completely close the lad-

der to its most compact form. Ensure the Storage

Strap (4) is locked, securing the ladder.

5. MAINTENANCE

The ladder is designed to function

faultlessly for a long period and with a

minimum of maintenance. Extend its

lifespan by regularly cleaning the machine

and treating it correctly.

•

Vor Gebrauch der Leiter muss überprüft werden,

ob alle Sicherungsmechanismen ordnungs-

gemäß funktionieren. Wenn ein Mechanismus

nicht ordnungsgemäß funktioniert, verwenden

Sie die Leiter nicht.

• Tragen Sie enganliegende Kleidung, nehmen Sie

Schmuck ab und binden Sie lange Haare zurück,

wenn Sie die Leiter benutzen.

• Tragen Sie beim Aufstieg auf eine Leiter immer

geeignetes Schuhwerk. Flache, trockene, proﬁ-

lierte Schuhe mit fest gebundenen Schnürsen-

keln gelten als angemessen.

• Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Fläche, an der Sie die

Leiter anstellen, das kombinierte Gewicht aus

Leiter, Benutzer und allen getragenen Gegen-

ständen tragen kann.

• Türen (aber keine Feuerschutztüren o.ä.), Fen-

ster und Ein- und Ausstiegsbereiche sollten vor

der Benutzung der Leiter gesichert werden.

• Alle Ablenkungen sollten nach Möglichkeit

vermieden werden. Stellen Sie die Teleskopleiter

immer so auf, dass sie frei zugänglich ist.

• Stellen Sie beim Transport von Leitern auf Dacht-

rägern oder in einem Auto sicher, dass diese auf

geeignete Weise angebracht und gesichert sind,

um Schäden zu vermeiden.

• Die Leiter muss nach der Lieferung und vor jeder

Verwendung überprüft werden, um den Zustand

und die Funktion aller Teile festzustellen.

• Führen Sie zu Beginn jedes Arbeitstages,

an dem die Leiter benutzt werden soll, eine

Sichtprüfung der Leiter auf Beschädigung und

sichere Benutzung durch.

• Beseitigen Sie alle Verunreinigungen an der Lei-

ter, z.B. nasse Farbe, Schmutz, Öl oder Schnee.

• Für häuﬁge Benutzer ist regelmäßige Inspektion

erforderlich.

• Vor der Benutzung einer Leiter bei der Arbeit

sollte eine Risikobewertung durchgeführt

werden, die der Gesetzgebung des Landes

entspricht, in dem sie verwendet wird.

• Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Leiter für den jewei-

ligen Einsatz geeignet ist. Wenn Sie sich nicht

sicher sind, wenden Sie sich an eine qualiﬁzierte

Person.

• Verwenden Sie keine beschädigte oder ander-

weitig ungeeignete Leiter.

POSITIONIERUNG UND AUFSTELLEN DER LEITER

• Bevor Sie die Leiter in den Arbeitsbereich

bringen, stellen Sie sicher, dass die Leiter

vollständig zusammengeschoben ist, dass alle

Sicherungsvorrichtungen aktiviert sind und dass

die Leiter frei von Verunreinigungen ist. Leiter

nur in sicheren Arbeitsbereichen aufstellen und

zusammenschieben. Bewegen Sie die Leiter

nicht, wenn sie aufgestellt ist.

• Positionieren und benutzen Sie die Leiter nur

auf einem geraden, ebenen und nicht bewegli-

chen Untergrund.

• Beim Aufstellen der Leiter ist auf das Risiko

einer Kollision zu achten, z.B. mit Fußgängern,

Fahrzeugen oder Türen.

• Türen (jedoch nicht Notausgänge) und Fenster

im Arbeitsbereich verriegeln, falls möglich.

• Stellen Sie alle durch elektrische Betriebsmittel

im Arbeitsbereich gegebenen Risiken fest, z.B.

Hochspannungs-Freileitungen oder andere

freiliegende elektrische Betriebsmittel. Diese

Leiter bietet keine Isolierung oder Schutz vor

elektrischen Gefahren.

• Seien Sie besonders vorsichtig, wenn Sie

elektrische Geräte benutzen, da diese Leitern

elektrischen Strom leiten. Treffen Sie bei der

Benutzung der Leiter immer Vorkehrungen,

damit sich ein Stromkabel nicht irgendwo ver-

fangen kann. Überprüfen Sie vorher, dass das

Stromkabel Ihres Werkzeugs unbeschädigt ist.

• Die Leiter muss auf ihren Füßen aufgestellt

werden, nicht auf den Sprossen bzw. Stufen.

Die Leiter darf nicht auf rutschigen Flächen auf-

gestellt werden (z.B. Eis, blanke Flächen oder

deutlich verunreinigte feste Flächen), sofern

nicht durch zusätzliche Maßnahmen verhindert

wird, dass die Leiter rutscht, oder indem sicher-

gestellt wird, dass die verunreinigten Stellen

ausreichend sauber sind.

•

Die Leiter muss in der richtigen Position aufge-

stellt werden, d.h. mit dem richtigen Winkel für

eine Anlegeleiter (Neigungswinkel ca. 1:4) und

mit der richtigen Sprossen- oder Stufenhöhe

(z.B. 1 m von der Wand entfernt, wenn sie so ver-

längert ist, dass Sie 4 m hochklettern können).

• Die Leiter muss immer auf einem ebenen und

stabilen Untergrund stehen und vor dem Ge-

brauch gesichert werden, z.B. durch Festbin-

den oder unter Verwendung einer geeigneten

Stabilitätsvorrichtung.

• Die Sicherungsmechanismen für alle ausge-

fahrenen Sprossenabschnitte müssen vor der

Benutzung der Leiter gesichert werden.

• Versuchen Sie niemals, die Leiter von oben zu

verschieben oder neu zu positionieren.

BENUTZUNG DER LEITER

• Überschreiten Sie nicht die maximale Nutzlast von

150 kg für diese Leiter.

• Die Leiter darf nur von jeweils einer Person be-

nutzt werden.

• Leitern sollten nur für leichte Arbeiten von kurzer

Dauer verwendet werden.

• Für unvermeidbare Arbeiten unter Spannung

keine Leitern benutzen, die den Strom leiten.

Diese Leiter ist nicht für Arbeiten unter Spannung

geeignet, da sie leitfähig ist und keinen Schutz vor

elektrischen Gefahren bietet.

• Niemals die Leiter mit dem Oberteil nach unten

aufstellen oder benutzen. Das Unterteil sollte

immer fest auf dem Boden stehen.

• Verwenden Sie die Leiter nicht im Freien bei

ungünstigen Wetterbedingungen, z.B. bei starkem

Wind oder Regen.

• Die ausgefahrene Leiter nicht unbeaufsichtigt

lassen.

• Vorsichtsmaßnahmen treffen, damit keine Kinder

auf der Leiter spielen.

• Stellen Sie keine Werkzeuge oder andere Gegen-

stände auf die Sprossen und hängen Sie nichts an

das Leitersystem.

• Gegenstände, die beim Besteigen einer Leiter

transportiert werden, sollten leicht und einfach zu

handhaben sein.

• Stellen Sie sich beim Auf- und Absteigen mit dem

Gesicht zur Leiter und halten Sie sich gut fest.

•

Rutschen Sie nicht die Holme der Leiter hinunter.

Steigen Sie mit bewussten Bewegungen auf und

ab.

• Bewahren Sie immer 3 Kontaktpunkte mit der

Leiter, z.B. zwei Füße auf der gleichen Sprosse

und eine Hand an den Holmen. Verwenden Sie

zusätzliche Sicherheitsausrüstung, wenn dies

nicht möglich ist.

• Halten Sie sich beim Arbeiten auf einer Leiter mit

einer Hand fest, oder, falls dies nicht möglich ist,

treffen Sie zusätzliche Sicherheitsvorkehrungen.

• Nicht zu weit hinauslehnen: Benutzer sollten ihre

halten und mit beiden Füßen auf derselben Stufe/

Sprosse stehen.

• Vermeiden Sie Arbeiten mit übermäßigen seitli-

chen Belastungen, z.B. beim Bohren in Mauerwerk

und Beton.

• Wenn eine Leiter angelehnt ist, darf nicht höher als

bis zum letzten Meter der Leiter geklettert werden.

• Der Benutzer muss die Hände um die Holme

legen, wenn er die Leiter von der ausgefahrenen

in die Aufbewahrungsposition bringt.

• Stellen Sie sich nicht auf die oberen vier Spros-

sen der Leiter, dies kann zu Stabilitätsproblemen

führen.

Verwenden Sie die Leiter nicht als Überbrückung.

• Anlegeleitern für den Zugang zu einer höheren

Ebene sollten mindestens 1m über den Anlege-

punkt hinausragen bzw. ausgeschoben werden.

• Klettern Sie nicht ohne zusätzliche Sicherung

von einer Anlegeleiter auf eine höhere Ebene,

nutzen Sie z.B. Sicherungsleinen oder ein geeig-

nete Stabilisierungsgerät.

• Steigen Sie nicht seitlich von der Leiter.

• Bleiben Sie nicht zu lange ohne regelmäßige

Unterbrechungen auf der Leiter (Müdigkeit ist

eine Gefahr).

• Seien Sie beim Zusammenschieben der Leiter

vorsichtig, damit sich keine Finger, Kleidungs-

stücke oder Haare in den Mechanismen verfan-

gen. Schieben Sie die Abschnitte nacheinander

zusammen.

2. PRODUKTINFORMATIONEN

Verwendungszweck

Die Teleskopleiter ist für den häuslichen Gebrauch

bestimmt und wurde als Steighilfe in Haus und Garten

und für Hobbyzwecke konzipiert. Diese Leiter ist kein

Spielzeug. Kinder müssen stets beaufsichtigt werden,

um sicherzustellen, dass sie nicht mit dem Leitersys-

tem spielen. Diese Leiter wurde nicht für den professi-

onellen Gebrauch entwickelt. Die Teleskopleiter muss

gemäß dieser Anleitung gehandhabt, gepﬂegt und

gewartet werden. Jede andere Verwendung gilt als

unangemessen und kann zu Sachschäden, Verletzun-

gen oder sogar zum Tod führen. Die Leiter entspricht

den Normen von EN131, 96-333 und Warenwet.
