triebnahme sorgfältig durch und bewahren Sie sie auf.
Wichtig

Schließen Sie das Gerät nur an Wechsel-
spannung an und prüfen Sie, ob Ihre Netz-
spannung mit der Spannungsangabe auf
dem Gerät übereinstimmt.

Dieses Gerät darf nicht in der Nähe von
mit Wasser gefüllten Behältern (wie
z.B. Badewanne, Dusche, Waschbecken)
verwendet werden. Achten Sie darauf, dass
das Gerät nicht nass wird.

Als zusätzlicher Schutz wird die Installation
einer Fehlerstrom-Schutzeinrichtung (RCD)
mit einem Bemessungsauslösestrom von
nicht mehr als 30 mA im Badezim-
mer-Stromkreis empfohlen. Fragen Sie
Ihren Installateur um Rat.

Dieses Gerät kann von Kindern ab 8 Jahren
oder von Personen mit eingeschränkten
physischen, sensorischen oder geistigen
Fähigkeiten oder Mangel an Erfahrung und/
oder Wissen benutzt werden, wenn sie
beaufsichtigt sind oder eine Unterweisung
zur sicheren Anwendung des Gerätes erhal-
ten haben und die damit verbundenen
Gefahren verstehen. Kinder dürfen nicht mit
dem Gerät spielen. Reinigung und Wartung
dürfen nicht durch Kinder durchgeführt
werden, es sei denn, sie sind älter als
8 Jahre und beaufsichtigt.

Vermeiden Sie es, heiße Geräteteile zu
berühren.
•
Legen Sie das Gerät im heißen Zustand
nicht auf hitzeunbeständige Flächen.

Wickeln Sie das Netzkabel nicht um das
Gerät. Überprüfen Sie es gelegentlich auf
Schadstellen. Ist das Netzkabel beschä-
digt, muss es durch eine vom Hersteller
benannte Reparaturwerkstatt ersetzt wer-
den, um Gefährdungen zu vermeiden.

Haar.

Erste Schritte
Schließen Sie das Gerät ans Netz an und stellen Sie die
gewünschte Temperatur am Ein-/Ausschalter (4) ein:
I für dünnes Haar
II für normales Haar
III für voluminöses Haar und professionellen Einsatz
Die Kontrolllampe (3) blinkt beim Aufheizen. Sobald die
Styling-Temperatur erreicht ist, leuchtet die Kontrolllampe
permanent.
Wird das Gerät bei 100 Volt betrieben, ist mit längeren Auf-
heizzeiten zu rechnen.
(Wenn die Kontrolllampe sehr schnell blinkt, lassen Sie
das Gerät beim Braun Kundendienst überprüfen.)
IONTEC (nur bei Modell ST 560)
Wird das Gerät eingeschaltet, strömen aktive Ionen aus
der Ionen-Düse (7), die für einen glatteren, frizz-freien
Style sorgen.
Die Ionen umhüllen jedes einzelne Haar und stellen die
Feuchtigkeitsbalance Ihrer Haare wieder her.
Vorbereitung
Stellen Sie sicher, dass Ihr Haar vollständig trocken ist,
bevor Sie das Gerät benutzen.
Zunächst kämmen Sie Ihr Haar mit einem breiten Kamm,
um es zu entwirren (Fig. A).
Wie Sie Ihre Haare glätten
Trennen Sie eine dünne Haarsträhne ab (2–3 cm oder
2 Finger breit). Legen Sie sie direkt am Haaransatz zwischen
die Stylingplatten (1) (Abb. B). Sanft mit einer langsamen
und kontinuierlichen Bewegung vom Haaransatz zu den
Haarspitzen gleiten (Abb. C), ohne länger als 2 Sekunden
an einer Stelle zu verweilen. Die bewegliche Stylingplatte
sorgt für ein leichtes und reibungsloses Gleiten.
Für eine bessere Kontrolle beim Gleiten entlang der Haar-
strähne, können Sie das Gerät stabilisieren, in dem Sie die
Cool Tips (2) mit der freien Hand halten.
Sie können Außenwellen erzeugen, indem Sie das Gerät
langsam nach außen oder nach innen drehen, bevor Sie
die Haarsträhnen wieder loslassen.
Nach Gebrauch
Nach jedem Gebrauch das Gerät ausschalten, indem
Sie den Ein-/Ausschalter wieder auf Position «O» stellen.
Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker.
Nach dem Ausschalten sind die Stylingplatten noch heiß.
Berühren Sie sie nicht, um Verbrennungen zu vermeiden.
Nach 20 Minuten Abkühlzeit können Sie das Gerät ohne
Gefahr berühren.
Reinigung
Vor dem Reinigen den Netzstecker ziehen und das Gerät
abkühlen lassen. Tauchen Sie das Gerät nicht in Wasser.
Reinigen Sie das Gerät mit einem feuchten Tuch und
trocknen es mit einem weichen Tuch.
Entsorgung
Dieses Gerät enthält wiederverwertbare Elektro-
bauteile. Aus Umweltschutzgründen darf das Gerät
nicht über den Hausmüll entsorgt werden. Bringen
Sie es zu einer kommunalen Sammelstelle.

read these use instructions carefully before use and keep
them for future reference.
Important
•
Plug the appliance into an alternating current
outlet only and make sure that your house-
hold voltage corresponds to the voltage
printed on the appliance.
•
This appliance must never be used
near water (e.g. a filled wash basin,
bathtub or shower). Do not allow the appli-
ance to get wet.
•
For additional protection, it is advisable to
install a residual current device (RCD) with
a rated residual operating current not
exceeding 30 mA in the electrical circuit of
your bathroom. Ask your installer for advice.
•
This appliance can be used by children
aged from 8 years and above and persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given super-
vision or instruction concerning the safe
use of the appliance and understand the
hazards involved. Children shall not play
with the appliance. Cleaning and user
maintenance shall not be made by children
unless they are older than 8 years and
supervised.
•
Avoid touching the hot parts of the appliance.
•
When hot, do not place on surfaces that are
not heat-resistant.
•
Do not wrap the mains cord around the
appliance. Regularly check the mains cord
for wear or damage. If the cord is damaged,
it must be replaced by an authorized Braun
Service Centre in order to avoid a hazard.

The appliance should be used on dry hair
only.

Getting started
Connect the appliance to an electrical outlet and slide the
«on/off» switch (4) to the desired temperature setting:
I for fine hair
II for normal hair
III for thick hair and professional use
The pilot light (3) flashes during heat-up. As soon as the
styling temperature is reached, the pilot light shines per-
manently.
Please expect a longer heat-up time when operating the
appliance at 100 V.
(If the pilot light flashes very fast, please have the appliance
checked at a Braun Service centre.)
IONTEC (only with model ST 560)
When the appliance is switched on, it releases a rich
stream of active ions for smoother, frizz-free styles.
The ions envelop every single hair and restore the mois-
ture balance of your hair.
Preparing for use
Make sure your hair is completely dry before using the
appliance.
First, comb your hair through with a wide toothed comb to
remove tangles (Fig. A).
How to straighten your hair
Section off a hair strand. Starting close to the roots, take a
thin strand (2–3 cm or 2 fingers wide) and clamp it firmly
between the styling plates (1) (Fig. B).
Gently run the straightener through the entire length of the
hair, slowly and steadily, from roots to the ends (Fig. C)
without resting on a spot for longer than 2 seconds.
The floating styling plate ensures easy and smooth gliding.
For improved control when gliding along a strand, you may
stabilize the appliance by holding the cool tips (2) with
your free hand.
You can create flicks at the hair ends by slowly turning the
appliance either outwards or inwards before releasing a
strand.
After use
After each use, switch off the appliance by pushing the
«on/off» switch back to position «O». Unplug the appliance.
The styling plates are still hot. Do not touch them to avoid
burnings. After 20 minutes cooling time, you will be able to
touch the appliance without any risk.
Cleaning
Always unplug before cleaning. Never immerse the appliance
in water. Clean the appliance with a damp cloth and use a
soft cloth to dry.
Disposal
The product contains recyclable electronic waste.
To protect the environment, do not dispose of it in
household waste, but take it to appropriate local
collection points.

We grant a 2 year guarantee on the product commencing
on the date of purchase. Within the guarantee period we
will eliminate any defects in the appliance resulting from
faults in materials or workmanship, free of charge either by
repairing or replacing the complete appliance at our dis-
cretion.
This guarantee extends to every country where this appli-
ance is supplied by Braun or its appointed distributor.
This guarantee does not cover: damage due to improper
use, normal wear or use as well as defects that have a
negligible effect on the value or operation of the appli-
ance. The guarantee becomes void if repairs are under-
taken by unauthorised persons and if original Braun parts
are not used.

send the complete appliance with your sales receipt to an
authorised Braun Customer Service Centre (address infor-
