A. POWER: Turns amplier on and o.
B. MUTE: Mutes output to speakers. When in MUTE mode, XLR line
output remains active for studio or silent stage use, and POWER
JEWEL (C) illumination changes from red to amber.
C. POWER JEWEL: Illuminates red when amplier is on; ashes
between red and amber during power up, and illuminates amber
in MUTE mode (B).
D. REVERB
: Adjusts reverb eect level. Reverb is bypassed when
control is turned fully counterclockwise. Reverb can also be turned
on and o using included two-button footswitch
.
E. PRESENCE: Adjusts ultra-high frequency response to add a
special high-end “sparkle” to the nal output sound.
F. MIDDLE: Adjusts midrange response.
G. BASS: Adjusts bass response. At higher volume settings, lower
this knob’s setting to reduce speaker “ap”.
H. TREBLE: Adjusts treble response.
I. BRIGHT CHANNEL VOLUME: Adjusts bright channel loudness.
J. NORMAL CHANNEL VOLUME: Adjusts normal channel
loudness.
K. BRIGHT CHANNEL INPUTS: Connect instrument here. Input 1
produces full sensitivity; input 2 has adjusted sensitivity (-6dB)
for slightly darker tone and cleaner response with high-gain
instruments. The bright channel produces extra treble boost
when the BRIGHT CHANNEL VOLUME control (I) is set at less than
60 precent.
L. NORMAL CHANNEL INPUTS: Connect instrument here. Input 1
produces full sensitivity; input 2 has adjusted sensitivity (-6dB)
for slightly darker tone and cleaner response with high-gain
instruments.
The Tone Master Bassman amplier uses massive digital processing
power to achieve a single remarkable sonic feat: faithfully modeling
the circuitry and 45-watt power output of an original-era Bassman
tube amp. Using a high-performance digital power amp to achieve the
headroom and dynamic range of a real vintage Bassman tube amp,
paired with the power and clarity of four Jensen® P10R alnico speakers
and a resonant nger-jointed pine cabinet, the result is tubeless
Bassman tone, volume and dynamics virtually indistinguishable from
the all-tube original. And with all these features, the Tone Master
Bassman weighs substantially less than an all-tube Bassman.
Control panel features give guitarists a playing experience identical
to the tube version, with the modern addition of Fender’s world-
standard spring-reverb sound. Additional features deliver modern
convenience and exibility—including an output power selector for
full power and ve attenuated settings, balanced XLR line output with
impulse response (IR) cabinet simulations, mute switch for silent stage
or recording use, USB port for rmware upgrades and, in a special
Tone Master rst, an eects loop with footswitch-operated bypass.

REAR PANEL
M. OUTPUT POWER
: Selector switch oers full power (45 watts) and
ve other attenuated wattage settings (22W, 12W, 5W, 1W, 0.5W)
that tailor room/venue overall loudness to the main speakers. Set
control panel channel volume to personal preference for tube-
emulated response, then set OUTPUT POWER to preferred level.
N. VINTAGE/TIGHT SWITCH: Selects negative feedback of virtual
power amp. VINTAGE is accurate to the ’59 Bassman tube circuit;
TIGHT increases damping of the virtual power amp for tighter
low-end response.
O. CABINET SIM SWITCH: Selects the impulse response when using
XLR BALANCED LINE OUTPUT (R). Switch oers three dierent
impulse response options. Additional information available at
https://support.fender.com.
P. BALANCED LINE OUTPUT LEVEL: Adjusts output from mic to
line level to XLR BALANCED LINE OUTPUT (R) for external devices
and systems (i.e., PA and recording equipment). When set to “1”,
the maximum level is -5dBu, which may be “hot” for external mic
level inputs; connecting to line input level or activating mic input
pad for lowest noise performance is recommended.
Q. GROUND LIFT SWITCH: Helps eliminate hum or buzz resulting
from connection to improperly grounded equipment when using
XLR BALANCED LINE OUTPUT (R).
R. XLR BALANCED LINE OUTPUT: For balanced connection to
external devices and systems (i.e., PA and recording equipment).
XLR line output remains active when amp is in MUTE mode (B).
S. USB PORT: Connect to a Mac or PC using a USB-C cable to perform
rmware updates.
T. RECOVER/FIRMWARE UPDATE BUTTONS: Upper button is for
use by authorized Fender service personnel only; lower button
activates rmware update mode (when available with instructions
at https://support.fender.com).
U. FOOTSWITCH JACK: Connect included two-button footswitch for
reverb and eect loop bypass here. Note: REVERB (D) and EFFECTS
LOOP (V) default to ON when footswitch is disconnected.
V. EFFECTS LOOP/CLIPPING INDICATOR: Connect external eects
using TRS or standard TS 1/4” instrument cables. Connect amp
SEND to external eect input and amp RETURN to external eect
output. Eects loop can also be turned on and o (bypassed)
using the included two-button footswitch. Clipping indicator LED
illuminates red when eects RETURN is too “hot” and clipping is
occurring. Note that the eects loop is located in the signal path
between the amp and reverb models:
W. IEC POWER INLET (NOT SHOWN): Using the included power
cord, connect to a grounded outlet in accordance with the input
power voltage and frequency specied at the power inlet.
