A DIGITAL BATTERY CHARGER 12V 1-4A
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the appliance.
2. Workinginthevicinityofalead-acidbatteryisdangerous.Batteriesgenerateexplosive
gases during normal battery operation. For this reason, it is of the utmost importance
that you read this manual before each time you use your charger and follow the
instructions exactly.
3. To reduce the risk of battery explosion, follow these instructions and those published by
the battery manufacturer and the manufacturer of any equipment you intend to use in
the vicinity of the battery. Review the cautionary markings on these products and on the
engine
4. Use the charger indoors only. Do not expose it to rain.
GENERAL SAFETY
1. UsethischargerforchargingLEAD-ACIDbatteriesonly.
 Donotusethebatterychargerforothertypesofbatteriesornon-rechargeable
batteries, as these may burst and cause injury to persons and damage to property.
2. Only use an output socket with a rated voltage of DC12V and a rated current less than
12A to supply power to the appliance.
3. Onlyuseattachmentsrecommendedorsoldbythemanufacturer.Useofnon-
recommendedattachmentsmayresultinre,electricshock,orinjury.
4. When disconnecting the battery charger, do not pull the plug out by the cord. Pulling on
the cord may cause damage to the cord or plug .
5. Do not operate the charger with a damaged cord or plug. Have the cord replaced
immediately.
6. Do not operate the charger if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped , or if it has
beenotherwisedamagedinanyway.Takeittoaqualied
professional for inspection and repair.
7. Donotdisassemblethecharger.Takeittoaqualiedprofessionalwhenserviceor
 repairisrequired.Incorrectreassemblymayresultinelectricshockorre.
8. To reduce risk of electric shock, unplug charger from outlet before attempting any
maintenance or cleaning.
9. Do not use an extension cord unless it is absolutely necessary. Use of an improper
extensioncordcouldresultinreorelectricshock.Ifanextension 
cord must be used, make sure that:
 •Thepinsontheplugoftheextensioncordarethesamenumber,size,andshapeas
those of the plug on the charger.
 •Theextensioncordisproperlywiredandingoodelectricalcondition.

10. Always charge the battery in a well ventilated area. NEVER operate in a closed area or
withoutadequateventilation.WARNING:Riskof 
explosive gas.
11. Locate the charger as far away from the battery as the DC charger cable will permit.
12. Do not expose the charger to rain or snow.
13.NEVERchargeafrozenbattery.Ifbatteryuid(electrolyte)isfrozen,bringthebattery
into a warm area to thaw before charging.
14.NEVERallowbatteryacidtodriponthechargerwhenreadingspecicgravityorlling
the battery.
15. NEVER set a battery on top of the charger.
16.NEVERplacechargerdirectlyabovethebatterybeingcharged.Gasesfrombatterywill
corrode and damage charger.
17.NEVERtouchthebatteryclipstogetherwhenthechargerisenergized.
18. NEVER crank the engine with charger attached to battery.
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS AND SAFETY
1. WARNING:Wearcompleteeyeprotectionandprotectiveclotheswhenworkingwith
lead-acidbatteries.
2. Make sure someone is within range of your voice or close enough to come to your aid
whenyouworkwithornearalead-acidbattery.
3. Have plenty of fresh water and soap nearby for use if battery acid contacts skin,
clothing,oreyes.Ifbatteryacidcontactsskinorclothing,washitimmediatelywithsoap
and water.
4. Avoid touching your eyes while working with a battery. Acid particles (corrosion) may
getintoyoureyes!Ifacidentersyoureye,immediatelyoodeyewithrunningcold
waterforatleast10minutes.Getmedicalattentionimmediately.
5. Remove all personal metal items such as rings, bracelets, necklaces, and watches
whenworkingwithalead-acidbattery.Alead-acidbatterycanproduceashort-circuit
current high enough to weld a ring (or the like) to metal, causing a severe burns.
6. Take care not to drop a metal tool or other metal onto the battery. Metal may cause
sparking,ormayshort-circuitthebatteryoranotherelectricaldevise.Sparkingmay
cause an explosion.
7. Alwaysoperatethebatterychargerinanopen,well-ventilatedarea.
8. NEVERsmokeorallowasparkorameinthevicinityofthebatteryorengine.

tractor.
d) Van : The maximum charging current is 4Amp, to recharge a 12V battery in vans and
SUVs.
e) Fast Charge : To recharge all 12V lead acid battery; it gives a 4.5Amp pulse charging
current.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:
Thecharger’soutputleadshavecolor-codedbatteryclips(RED=POSITIVEandBLACK=
NEGATIVE).Theseconnectdirectlytothecorrespondingconnectorsonthebatteryposts.
CHARGING THE BATTERY
1. Connect the charger to your battery, then connect to main AC power supply .
2. Select the charge rate.
3. Leave the charger on.
4. Monitor the battery from time to time
Note: A clicking sound may occur during this process; this is normal.
WARNING:DONOTattempttochargeafrozenbattery.
PREPARING TO CHARGE
1. Determine the voltage of your battery by referring to the car’s owners manual.
2. Ifitisnecessarytoremovethebatteryfromthevehicletochargeit,ortocleanthe
terminals,alwaysremovethegroundedterminalfromthebatteryrst.Makesureall
accessories in the vehicle are off, so as not to cause an arc.
3. Clean the battery terminals. Be careful to keep corrosion from coming in contact with
eyes.
4. Adddistilledwatertoeachcelluntilbatteryacidreachesthelevelspeciedbythe
batterymanufacturer.Thishelpspurgeexcessgasfromcells.Donotoverll.Fora
battery without cell caps, carefully follow the manufacturer’s recharging instructions.
5. Studyallofthebatterymanufacturer’sspecicprecautions,suchasremovingornot
removing cell caps while charging, and recommended rates of charge.
6. Be sure that the area around the battery is well ventilated while the battery is charging.
Gascanbeforcefullyblownawaybyusingapieceofcardboardoranothernonmetallic
material such as a fan.
7. Make sure the initial charging rate is not greater than the battery manufacturer’s
suggestion.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS: CHARGING BATTERY IN VEHICLE
1. Position AC and DC cords to reduce the risk of damage by hood, door, or moving
engine part.
2. Stay clear of fan blades, belts, pulleys, and other vehicle parts that can cause injury. 3.
 Checkthepolarityofbatteryposts.POSITIVE(POS,P,+)
 batterypostsusuallyhavelargerdiametersthanNEGATIVE(NEG,N,-)posts.
4. Determine which battery posts are grounded (connected) to the chassis.
 Ifthenegativepostisgroundedtothechassis(asinmostvehicles),connectthe
POSITIVE(RED)clipfromthebatterychargertothePOSITIVE 
(P05,P,+)ungroundedpostofbattery.ConnecttheNEGATIVE(BLACK)cliptothe
vehicle’s chassis or engine block, away from the battery. Do not
connectthecliptothecarburetor,fuellines,orsheet-metalbodyparts.Connecttheclipto
the heavy gauge metal part of the frame or engine block
Ifthepositivepostisgroundedtothechassis,connecttheNEGATIVE(BLACK)clipfrom
batterychargertotheNEGATIVE(NEG,N,-)ungroundedpostofthebattery.Connectthe
POSITIVE(RED)cliptothevehicle’schassisorengineblock,awayfrombattery.Donot
connectthecliptothecarburetor,fuellines,orsheet-metalbodyparts.Connecttoaheavy
gauge metal part of the frame or engine block.
5. Whendisconnectingthecharger,disconnecttheACcordrst,removetheclipfromthe
vehicle’s chassis, and then remove the clip from the battery terminal.
6. Do not charge the battery while the engine is running.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS: CHARGING BATTERY OUTSIDE OF VEHICLE
When charging your battery outside of the vehicle, be sure to determine the battery type.
To reduce the risk of a spark near the battery, follow these steps when the battery is outside
the vehicle.
WARNING:Asparknearthebatterymaycausethebatterytoexplode.
WARNING:Whenremovingthebatteryfromavehicleorboat,disconnectthegrounded
polerst.Whendisconnecting,makesureallaccessoriesareoff,soasnottocauseanarc.
NOTE: A marine (boat) battery must be removed and charged on shore. (To charge on
board requires special equipment designed for marine use.)
WARNING:Whenreinstallingyourbattery,attachthegroundpostrst.
1. Check the polarity of the battery posts. The polarity will be marked by each post:
POSITIVE(POS,P,+)andNEGATIVE(NEG,N,-).NOTE:Thepositivebatterypost
usually has a larger diameter than the negative post.
2. ConnectthePOSITIVE(RED)chargercliptothePOSITIVE(POS,P,+)postbattery.
ConnectNEGTIVE(BLACK)chargercliptoNEGTIVE(BLACK,N,-)postbattery.
Rock the clip back and forth to make a good connection.
 WARNING:Donotfacethebatterywhenmakingthenalconnection.
5. Plug the charger’s AC cord into a 220 volt main supply.
6. Switch on the charger and then select amperage (See “Controls” Section).
 WARNING:Besurethattheareaaroundthebatteryiswell-ventilatedwhilethebattery
ischarging.Gascanbeforcefullyblownawaybyusingapieceofcardboardorother
nonmetallic material, such as a fan.
6. Continue charging the battery until the charger’s LCD displayer shows “FULL”.
7. Whenthebatteryisfullycharged,unplugthechargerfromtheACpowersourcerst.
Then. (1) remove clip from Negative post, and (2) remove clip from Positive battery
post.
8. Clean and store the battery charger.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
With only minimal maintenance, this Battery Charger will deliver years of dependable
service. Follow these simple steps to maintain the charger in optimal condition: After each
use,cleanthebatterychargerclamps-besuretoremoveanybatteryuidthatwillcause
corrosion of the copper clamps. Clean the outside case of the charger with a soft cloth and,
ifnecessary,amildsoapsolution.Keepthechargercordslooselycoiledduringstorage
to prevent damage to the cords. Do not use the charger if cords or clamps have been
damaged in any way.
